JVCKJ signifies a new chapter for Jack Johnson, who is widely known as one half of the multiplatinum pop duo Jack & Jack. From growing a massive online audience making videos in his childhood home in Omaha, Nebraska, to now countless sold out tours, multi-platinum records, a billion-plus streams and numerous other musical accolades, Jack has always been a creative force.

In a lot of ways, JVCKJ is a true exploration of Jack Johnson’s individual musical interests and lyrical ability. His first solo single titled “You Lie” find’s Jack painting a true picture of how two people in a relationship can find themselves caught up in a vicious cycle of pain. “Sometimes when you hurt somebody they’ll retaliate and hurt you back,” he says. “It’s really about deception within a relationship.” Another one of Jack’s big musical influences comes into play here, Eminem. “My biggest musical influence for this record and in general, from a story telling perspective would have to be Eminem,” he admits.
